But it was difficult to buy porcelain tableware in Soviet times. In the stores there were queues to buy the usual plates.

Soviet people gave tableware sets on holidays and definitely on the wedding to each other. Ordinary workers didn't collect figurines or utensils of certain factories. A lot of people have found out the difference between the value of the products of the porcelain factories only after the collapse of the Soviet Union.

Some of them used the porcelain of Kuznetsov factory and didn't know anything about it's value.

"Partnership of production of porcelain, faience and majolica products, M. S. Kuznetsov" is one of the largest whiteware industries of the Russian Empire. It was founded in 1889 by the Russian industrialist and entrepreneur Matthew Sidorovich Kuznetsov and lasted until 1917, when the Revolution occurred and the majority of the enterprises were nationalized. Enterprise Kuznetsov produced beautiful painted porcelain to noble people and ordinary dishes for catering establishments.

The company was awarded the right image of the state emblem for the high quality products. It was awarded Golden medals  at the international exhibitions in Paris (1889, 1890), at international exhibitions in Reims (1903) and Liege (1905) took the Grand Prix.

The modern value of these products due to the fact that any dishes with the mark of Kuznetsov was produced before the Revolution, and therefore not less 100 years.

The old dishes usually took out of the city to the country houses (dacha). Cottage ware quickly deteriorates and often beating, so there used the cheaper and worse tableware. Thats why i've found two very old dishes marked out of the Partnership Kuznetsova at my dacha. They are over 100 years old and they show the traces of time. But there are no chips or major damage, even the gilding has been preserved almost entirely.
